Ingredients

  • 5 lbs Sirloin Tips Can use stew beef, leftover roast beef,
  • 1 10oz Package white mushrooms or baby bellas Sliced
  • 1 tbsp. Flour
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 24 oz Hunt's Tomato Sauce The large can
  • 1 Turnip Original says small, I prefer one small
  • 5 Potatoes Peeled and cubed
  • 6 Carrots Peeled and chopped
  • 2 Cloves or garlic Diced - I tend to add a lot more

Method

  1. In a large heavy pot, I use a Dutch Oven.
  2. Brown the sirloin tips. When brown add the mushrooms and cook until soft.
  3. Add the garlic and cook another minute.
  4. Add flour and mix until well combined. (If gluten-free use corn starch here)
  5. Pour the water over the beef mixture.
  6. Add the can of tomato sauce, potatoes, carrots and turnips.
  7. Let simmer for a few hours and serve with a great garlic bread.
